She Barfed In My Hair-Don’t Let Life Slip Away Always Reminiscing

I spent the day yesterday at home with my little sicky. She was throwing up constantly. In her hair, car, garage; in her lap and in mine. She didn’t even have the energy to keep her eyes open for the “Elf On The Shelf” movie.

I hate it when my kids get sick, but I do enjoy the time we get together. I held El this morning on the couch as she slept on me. I had this sense of not wanting to be anywhere else. Realizing that one day she’ll be an adult and I’ll be a wrinkly old woman. Reminiscing about how sweet they were running to the door to see me every day. El likes to make me lattes and have girl chats where we talk about “our” boyfriends. She wears her charm bracelet to match mine. Her brother dances around the house in his pajamas asking a million questions about Heaven and Jesus, every day. How they both ran to the window screaming and jumping up and down when they saw deer passing the house. El with her huge eyes, “I just saw a phenom-mom-mon” and whispers in my ear, “Santa’s Reindeer.”

You’ll never regret giving all of your time to kids as you watch them grow and mature. I know people say it’s different when they’re your own but I can’t imagine loving my kids any more.

I’m grateful for this family and these kids, and that Crypto goes up and down. 🙂
