Brain Surgery Part #2- Growing up in A Hospital

Hey! I’m back! It turns out that it wasn’t mom’s fancy church heels that were making her tired. On Tuesday we rushed her into the ER, her head started hurting like it did back in August and she knew not to wait to go to the hospital this time.

Her MRI came back showing two tumors in her brain. One the size of a lime towards the back of her head and another the size of a golf fall. She got admitted to a hospital room right away.

The doctors sat down with my parents and asked them if they wanted to be aggressive with this cancer or to leave and head home with pain meds. Of course, they chose the first option. On Wednesday she had her surgery on her leg as planned. The surgery lasted 4 hours, longer than expected because the mass under the lump on her leg was so large. It was attached to a vein running down her leg and they pulled it all out.

Thursday she had brain surgery. The doctor talked to dad and me, explaining how serious this brain surgery was. It wasn’t an easy procedure and he was preparing us for the worst. This time my faith was built up. My well was filled so full that it overflowed when I dunked my bucket in. I had enough faith for myself and my family this time around. God held me, as hard as it is to see mom how she was, God was still God. He was there for me.

Everyone split ways for a while and tried to have a normal afternoon. I went to lunch with Solomon and tried to take a nap, Isaac worked for a couple of hours; Nana went home and let Samuel have a play date with Carsson. Dad did laundry, and Mormor went home. Then we got a call, the surgery went perfectly! She came wheeled out with a smile on her face. Every hospital room or waiting room we were in, we filled it with family and friends. God was in that room with her and in her thoughts while she laid there with her head half open. I give Him all the credit for the miracle she is.

Now, here we are. Mom got dispatched Saturday afternoon, she’s learning how to use a spoon again and was able to walk up the stairs. We’re all happy to have her back in her bed and out of the hospital. She’s able to text again and write her name on a line. ❤️ She’s getting stronger every day.

Come back for updates on this miracle.
