YES! It’s time for the long awaited glow-up series! Who’s EXCITED!?
Today we start the beginning of a journey to becoming the best versions of ourselves…
Step One: Ask Yourself The Following Questions.
Are you wondering how to create positive changes in your life? Are you truly ready to do it this time? Yes/No
Do you ever picture your future self similarly to the girls who seem to have it all together? Driving their pretty cars, with their long flowy hair and tiny waists? Tan, clear skin, purely white teeth, and fluttery eyelashes? Their super handsome husband that everyone respects, who wears suits and carries that brown leather breifcase? Partners who work equally hard and it shows, where they both married up? Do you want that? Yes/No
Do you want a peaceful life? Where you’re not just backpeddeling? You know what you want and won’t stop working until you get it? Do you want your work ethic, moral dicipline, determination, growth, prosperity, and the hand of God to be what you see when you look at your life? Yes/Yes
If you thought “yes” to yourself about any of those statements, you’ve come to the right place. I’m a sucker for self-improvement projects. LET’S GOOOOOO.

Welcome to the Glow-Up Diaries laddies.
I’ve been in a constant state of “glowing up” since the age of thirteen. Finding ways to improve my mental, physical, and spiritual state. Fixing my problems really.
My BFF and I would make Glow Up Pinterest boards and have girl’s night nearly every week. We’d spend hours upon hours doing facials, hair masks, cuticle care, and detox teas; ab workouts, jogging around my block and writing in our journals because we never really liked who we were. Now, it goes a little deeper than that and I’ve learned some things since the eighth grade. Believe it or not.
It’s time for a makeover.
Getting closer to God is your first step. When you’re closer to Him, your life is forced to change in every possible way. The way you talk, think, make decisions; the way you work, relax, and have fun on the weekends. Your friends and family, the way you dress; how you live your life. It all changes.
Once you reach the age of self-accountability and become aware of your issues, ultimately you’re the only one able to fix them.
It’s no longer your parent’s fault for how you are. It’s all on you kid.
Take a moment to reflect on yourself, look inside your heart and check the mirror. That’s you and this is where we’re starting. YOU are the only person you will ever have forever. If that’s true, and it is; why do you hate yourself so much? Why do you tell yourself you can’t do things or be who you want to be? Why do you expect yourself to fail or not measure up? Ask yourself who you want to be in 5 years, then ask yourself, why can’t you be that right now?
Having a summer glow-up is 80% mental. Step #1 is fixing the way you think, and asking yourself those fundamental questions. Once you’ve finished that step, you’ll know where you are on the map so that you can work towards where you want to be.
Three Steps to kick off your Glow-Up.
Sometimes you have to start small. Summer has just begun so don’t stress out, you’ll have time. Also, this will go into the rest of our year, not just these few summer months. Remember, consistency over intensity.
- 1.) Turn on some chill tunes, lite a candle, and write in a journal or on a piece of paper. If you enjoy writing then journaling will help you think better; for those who hate writing, stick to only writing down the categories listed above. Put them in front of your face, or in your phone so you can see it every day.
- 2.) Take a picture of yourself (this is your before picture for progress tracking). Don’t feel discouraged, the best time to start is now.
- 3.) Go get a fresh haircut. It will do wonders and make you excited for this Glow Up project. (Rounded layers are really pretty on long hair).
