When You Need A Lift-Student Motivation

These thoughts replay in my head constantly. It’s the little things that add up-Read this when you’re feeling tired. 😵‍💫

When you get an assignment, schedule your studying now! When you have class reading, do it now; write your paper and hand it in early. Don’t just wear sweats, put on a cute top and wash your hair; don’t just eat junk, respect yourself more than that. Bring coffee in a flask, make flashcards, and learn how you learn best.

Clear skin and good grades are attainable.

Take your classmate’s notes and yours, then merge. Study for your test and submit it NOW. If you suck at something, learn it more! Don’t run from things you’re bad at, chase them until it’s easy. It’s okay to ask for extra help.

Buy a coffee with your credit card and pay it off before you leave the drive-thru. Pay your bills early, pay off loans quickly, build your credit, save your money, and spend it on things that will make you better. Have enough to help someone when they’re hurting.

Invest! You don’t need someone’s help, you can do it yourself. Buy books, take courses; buy textbooks, stay late, and ask the question everyone else is too scared to ask. You are continually getting older, there is no better time than RIGHT NOW.

Be honest with yourself, all you truly have is God. He’s given you everything. Think about it, we can’t even make dirt. We’re helpless.

The only team you have for all of your life is you and God. You have to be the one to push yourself or you won’t go anywhere. You’re there when you’re pulling all-nighters. You’re there when you’re waking up before everyone else. You’re the one yelling at yourself to run one more mile, one more lap, and one more flite of stairs; because you care the most. You’re the one giving the pep talks when you’re getting low. You’re the one refocusing and staying on track. You’re the only one who can keep yourself accountable- And He’s the only one who sees it all, who gives you grace, who understands, who helps you pick up after a meltdown. He is why you’re worth anything, and why you’ll do great things; He is the how for everything in your life. Even if you don’t believe it. You know it’s true.

Don’t waste money on a Netflix subscription and especially not your time. Chase the experiences, buy the plane ticket, take time off and go on the trip; sometimes you can stay up late and get up early, you’re living. Live fully, shut down your fears- thoughts that hold you back, and STOP hiding your potential. You have no reason to be shy and it’s not cute.

Being bold isn’t cocky. Knowing what you want doesn’t mean you’re a brat. Confidence doesn’t mean you’re full of yourself. It’s okay to know what you’re good at. If they get offended when you offer help, that’s their problem. If you aren’t good at anything, pick something, YOU can learn ANYTHING! NEVER pass down help, NEVER say no because you don’t know enough. Be that person you want to be, there isn’t any reason why you can’t.

You’ll know more by doing more, and you’ll never be able to know it all. That’s okay.

You’ll get tired, you’ll cry, you’ll feel stressed at times or overwhelmed and you’ll grow because of it. Take long showers, be okay with taking a nap when you’re tired, watch Gilmore girls when you’re mentally exhausted. Light a candle and drink hot chocolate, read a novel- you don’t always need to be shuffing your brain with information. Learn how to take care of yourself so you can take care of others.

The sooner you take your focus off of the end goal and concentrate on the little steps that help you achieve it, you’ll be there already. Just START.
